Getting started

Evaluate ADOM with a focused pilot

Use a representative project and visible acceptance criteria to assess fit.

Sponsors, procurement and evaluators

Choose a meaningful first outcome

Select a workflow that matters to the organization and has clear inputs, outputs and reviewers. A useful pilot is small enough to inspect thoroughly and representative enough to expose integration, permission and operational constraints. A polished screen alone is a weak test of delivery capability.

Write the evaluation before the demonstration

Write the evaluation before the demonstration
AreaExample of evidence to request
FunctionalityA user completes the agreed workflow with realistic sample data
PermissionsEach role sees and changes only the records it is permitted to access
IntegrationAn approved test system receives the expected request and returns a handled response
QualityRecorded tests cover successful, invalid and failure scenarios
DeliveryA reproducible release, deployment record and operating handoff
SecurityA walkthrough of the proposed deployment boundary and available control evidence

Measure comparable work

Agree how effort, elapsed time, defects and review effort will be measured. Record the size and complexity of the task, the input quality and any manual intervention. Compare like-for-like scopes and distinguish a demonstration using reference data from a pilot using approved organizational data.

Close with a decision

Review the results against the original criteria. List what passed, what needs more work, what was not exercised and what must change before a wider rollout. An evaluation can support a phased next step without treating every demonstrated feature as accepted production capability.
