Constituent Portal Overview
The AutoBridge Constituent Portal is a public-facing self-service platform that lets residents interact with government services online — submitting requests, tracking applications, accessing public records, and managing their accounts — without needing to call, visit, or wait for a staff response.
What is the Constituent Portal?
The Constituent Portal gives citizens a direct window into their government agency's services. It is configured by agency staff and reflects the services, branding, and workflows specific to that agency — not a generic government template.
Citizens can create accounts, submit applications and service requests, check status, upload supporting documents, make payments, and receive notifications — all from a single authenticated session.
Core Capabilities
Citizen Account Management
Residents register with email or SSO, manage their profile, and maintain a history of all interactions with the agency. Account-level access ensures citizens only see their own records and can return to in-progress applications across sessions.
Service Request Submission
The portal surfaces available services — permit applications, inspection requests, records inquiries, and more — as guided intake forms. Form fields are driven by Entity Builder, so agencies configure exactly what information is collected for each service type.
Application Status Tracking
Citizens can check the status of any submitted request in real time. Status updates are driven by the same workflow engine that powers staff-facing views, so the information is always current without manual updates.
Document Upload
Applicants can upload supporting documents — drawings, certifications, proof of ownership — directly through the portal at submission time or in response to staff requests during review.
Payment Processing
For services that require fees, citizens can pay online through the portal's integrated payment flow. Payment status links back to the permit or service record automatically.
Notifications
Automated emails and SMS notifications keep applicants informed at each step: submission confirmation, requests for additional information, status changes, and final decisions.
How It Fits in AutoBridge
The Constituent Portal is the citizen-facing layer of a larger workflow. Behind it, staff use AutoBridge's internal tools to review, process, and respond to submissions.
| Component | Role |
|---|---|
| Constituent Portal | Public-facing intake and status tracking |
| Permitting Solution | Backend permit processing and review |
| Entity Builder | Form and record type configuration |
| Automation Builder | Status notifications and routing |
| User Management | Citizen account and staff access control |
Citizen vs. Staff Access
The Constituent Portal is separate from the staff-facing AutoBridge interface. Citizens never see internal review tools, staff notes, or back-office workflow details. The portal shows only what is relevant to the applicant's own records and requests.
